Highlighters are arguably the most popular makeup items of the moment. Seeing as there's so many out there to choose from , I decided to round up a few of my favourite highlights, starting tonight with powder and then on to cream and liquid next week! There's a great variation in tone and intensity across these five, so matter what finish or colour tickles your fancy I'm sure you'll like at least one of these! It was a pretty tough decision to whittle this down to just five, and I think I'll probably follow this post up with some more info on budget friendly choices, as these ones ended up being pretty high end. Anyway , enough with the waffle and on to the goods!
In no particular order...
1. MAC Mineralised Skinfinish in Soft and Gentle
Most definitely the product that springs to most peoples minds when they think of highlight. Gives a gorgeous golden toned glow, and this is most definitely a must have for everyone! It has a slightly grainy mill though which means that if you want your highlight to be seen from space, layering this bad boy up is the way to go! €31.50
2. Charlotte Tilbury Dreamy Glow Highlight
This beauty is from the limited edition Norman Parkinson collection, and that means that the packaging is of course absolutely phenomenal. This is a very pink toned highlight that is super finely milled for a pretty and subtle effect. This is actually gorgeous as an all over beauty powder too (with a very very light hand!) €60
3. Nars Albatross
Although it looks white in the pan, this is the most gorgeous golden highlight!! I'm absolutely obsessed with this one because it suits my super pale skin. It nearly has a duochrome effect which is spectacular both as a face highlight and as a pop of gold on the eyes. It didn't get its cult status for nothing and is most definitely worth investing in! €30
4. Charlotte Tilbury Filmstar Bronze and Glow
Ok, so I know this one is technically a contour palette but the highlight is just second to none. Absolutely my favourite of all time, this fab champagne colour gives a really natural glow. Beyond gorgeous!! I'll talk about the bronzer another time but this highlights ultra fine mill and perfect tone means it'll take a hell of a lot for me to find one that I like better! €65
5. Illamasqua powder blush in Rush
Now this is one glittery motherfucker. Loved this so much as a super super intense highlight! You'll notice that I said loved, as in past tense. Shortly before I took this photo I dropped it, as you can see. And as you're about to see, shortly after I took it, I dropped it again. And the best part...? It's now been discontinued. Goodbye forever lil dude. €24.95
And here are the swatches!

And that's it from me for this week! I'll leave you with some parting shots of my dearly departed.
